Crunch Your Core

An oldy but goody, this classic abdominal crunch will flatten and tone your belly. Plus, it'll strengthen your core muscles, including your back, hips and spine. Give it a go!

Step 1: Lie on a mat on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Make a fist with one hand and place it between your chin and collarbone. With your other hand, grasp your wrist. (This will prevent you from leading with your head and straining your neck.)

Step 2: Without moving your lower body, exhale and slowly curl your upper torso until your shoulder blades are off the ground.

Step 3: Hold for 1 second.

Step 4: Inhale as you slowly lower yourself to the starting position.

Step 5: Repeat three times without resting.
Take Action:
  • Boycott Bill O'Reilly and FOX News and their advertisers. Bill discussed a French commercial by McDonalds that was meant to show that McDonalds is Gay Friendly. Bill said what is next? Is McDonalds going to be Al-Qaida friendly as well? Imagine - Bill O'Reilly compares Gays to Al-Qaida! Further, Boycott Fox's Owner "Rupert Murcoch" and get him thrown in jail for illegal - political donations, corruption, greed, bribery, hacking!
  • Boycott Target, Best Buy, Gold's Gym - for donating money towards anti-gay political candidates/organizations. Update: (12/26/2010): Target is continuing to donate to anti-gay groups/causes/politicians. Update 03/08/11 - Lady Gaga Ends Target Partnership, Reportedly Over Target's Poor LGBT Stance. Update 3/25/2010 - Target displays their hypocrisy and Sues California Gay Rights Group for Lobbying Outside Stores. Target is attempting to block the LGBT right of free speech! STOP SHOPPING AT TARGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update 4/8/2011: Target lost its case to stop the LGBT from canvassing in front of their stores. A huge PR Disaster for TARGET! Perhaps Target should go out of business as they betrayed their investers and customer base. Target contributed massive funds to a politician who would like to exterminate gays. Now, Target can not stop us from Boycotting them, nor picketing, nor talking to customers near their stores; although, Target allows a anti-gay company such as the Salvation Army to stand outside their door and speak with customers and raise money. Isn't this a double standard?
  • End DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). Prevents Federal employees and Gays in the Military from gaining equal benefits. Prevents Gay Partners from gaining equal benefits.
  • Pass a LGBT friendly ENDA (Employee Non-Discrimination Act). ENDA would prevent employment discrimination of LGBT workforce.
  • Boycott Salvation Army as they will not hire Gays! "DO NOT DONATE TO THEM."
  • BOYCOTT "Chick-fil-a" for donating money to anti-gay groups.
  • BOYCOTT KOCH INDUSTRIES PRODUCTS- to include their products: Angel Soft toilet paper / Brawny paper towels / Dixie plates, bowls, napkins & cups / Mardi Gras napkins and towels / Quilted Northern toilet paper / Soft 'n Gentle toilet paper / Sparkle napkins / Vanity fair napkins / Zee napkins / Georgia-Pacific paper products & envelopes / All Georgia-Pacific lumber & building products (INVISTA Products) / Lycra / Stainmaster Carpet. The billionaire - Koch brothers are ultra republican - tea bag founders/supporters that do not support causes of the LGBT community.
  • Boycott WALMART - The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force criticized Wal-Mart for denying employee benefits to same-s-x partners and for failing to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity. By comparison, the group said two other chain stores with a strong presence in New York, Costco and Walgreens, did much better.
  • "Tune Out Trump", Boycott all Trump Hotel, casinos, holdings, The Apprentice and NBC Network! At CPAC, Trump said he is considering a run for president as a Republican. In a interview with the Des Moines Register, Trump added that he opposes all forms of legal recognition for gay couples, not just marriage. "They should not be able to marry," he said. So why does NBC keep the Apprentice when Donald Trump has stated he may run for president? After making racist remarks about Obama and recv'g public backlash, Trump decided not to run for president after NBC renewed his awful TV Show. How can NBC re-new the clown's show after he pulled such hateful shenanigans?

    Former US President and Former GA Gov. Jimmy Carter felt that TROY DAVIS should not be executed and deserved a re-trial. The Former Director of the FBI felt that TROY DAVIS Was Not Guilty! Do not drive through Goergia as it is dangerous. Do not fly via Atlanta. For your safety -Do not travel to GA. TELL YOUR COMPANY NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CONVENTION IN GA! 'If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet shatter every closet door'

On this day, 33 years ago, former San Francisco City Supervisor Dan White took a gun to City Hall.

He climbed through a lower-level window to avoid metal detectors and proceeded to Mayor George Moscone's office.

White had resigned his office and went into Moscone's office hoping to be re-appointed to the seat he'd resigned from. When Moscone refused, White shot and killed him.

With extra ammunition, he proceeded to the office of Harvey Milk, who in 1977 was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, becoming the only the third openly gay man in U.S. history to be elected to public office.

White shot Milk five times -- the final two shots had White pressing his gun directly at Milk's skull, according to the medical examiner.

Prior to his death, Milk had recorded a message after receiving several death threats simply because he was gay. The message said: 
"If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet shatter every closet door."
Milk served only 11 months on the Board of Supervisors, but his high profile election victory gave hope to millions of gays and lesbians across the country that a day would come when they could live without fear of discrimination.

As a Supervisor, Milk worked to secure passage of San Francisco's landmark gay rights ordinance that extended employment protections to gays and lesbians in San Francisco, and became a model for anti-discrimination legislation throughout California and the nation.

On May 21, 1979, White was acquitted of the first degree murder charge, but found guilty of voluntary manslaughter of both Milk and Moscone.

While White's confession included statements such as "I was on a mission" and "I wanted to kill four of them," he was found innocent premeditated murder due to his "poor diet." White's lawyers successfully argued that White had been consuming many sugary foods, which led to his mental state. This became known as the "Twinkie Defense."

White was sentenced to serve seven and two-thirds years, but the sentenced was reduced for time served and good behavior, meaning White would be released in only five years.

The sentence sparked outrage in San Francisco's Castro District, and protestors marched from the Castro to City Hall, chanting "Avenge Harvey Milk" and "He got away with murder." Eventually the crowd swelled to over 3,000 and riots broke out -- angry residents lit police cars on fire, shoved a burning newspaper dispenser through the doors of City Hall, and cheered as the flames grew.

But only hours after the riots had ended, police made a retaliatory raid on a San Francisco gay bar. Two dozen arrests were made during that raid and in the following weeks, gay leaders refused to apologize for the riots. This is what gave them political power and led to the election of Mayor Dianne Feinstein.

Feinstein then appointed a pro-gay chief of police who actively recruited gays into the city's police force.
 
Dan White served five years of his seven-year sentence. Two years later, he was found dead after committing suicide in his garage by carbon monoxide poisoning.
 
Feinstein, now a U.S. Senator, is leading the way for LGBT equality by sponsoring the "Respect for Marriage Act," which would repeal the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
Every gay and lesbian person who has been lucky enough to survive the turmoil of growing up is a survivor. Survivors always have an obligation to those who will face the same challenges."
