Hi Group,
A reason a thought about being lonely, was that I am in a new community.
No I am not lonely. But, i thought about those that are lonely on a holiday.
I thought about my active engagement on a holiday and how those that are lonely might be able to do the same.
With Christmas and New years coming as well, the holidays may be depressing for the LGBT community as we lack children.
So as we grow older and think of the friends we lost to AIDS, the friends we do not have as we do not live in Gay friendly towns, or we are in the closet, etc, we are getting older, etc and grow lonely, it is important to find things to do. I am not stating these are perfect solutions for all. Some even may lack money to make a dinner, go to a movie. Sometimes, by joining a local democratic organization, a local LGBT chapter, we might make friends. Yes, even join a local food bank. If you do not drive, than things may get complicated and i slowly run out of answers. Every community is different.
