"The WWE doesn't have much to say about the arrest of a 22-year-old Brooklyn man accused of making death threats to employees at the wrestling giant's Stamford offices. The man was upset over the recent release of former women's champion Mickie James.
The wrestling fan was so upset he called the WWE headquarters more than 20 times last week and threatened to blow up the Stamford offices, among other violent warnings.
Robert Zimmerman, the media contact at the WWE's offices on East Main Street, simply said on Tuesday that the WWE worked with authorities in reporting the incident, adding that he hasn't been with the company long enough to say whether anything similar has happened in the past over departures of previous wrestling stars.
Asked about recent postings on online wrestling forums that refer to staging a riot in support of bringing James back to the squared circle, Zimmerman said the company is treating the postings just as they are — Internet rumors, and nothing more."
