Take Action:
- Boycott "Whole Foods" Grocery Stores: Their CEO is against Health Care Reform. Also, Whole Foods is blocking unionization. Check out Trader Joe's instead. Due to the boycott & pressure from stockholders, their CEO has stepped down; But, remains on the Board. Further, Whole Foods has made no retraction of these anti-Healthcare reform comments & continues to support Republican agenda.
- Boycott Exxon OIL. Do not purchase their GAS. "Exxon scored as the worst company for the LGBT to work for!" In fact, before Exxon purchased Mobil Oil, Mobile had same gender partner benefits. Well, that changed for those employees when Exxon purchased Mobil - as same gender-partner benefits went out the door! Therefore, as we have choices, we don't need Exxon.
- Boycott advertisers of Glenn Beck on Fox News as well as all of FOX NEWS! Glenn has lied about Health-care, called our President a racist, and is anti-gay rights.
- We demand immediate end of DADT. It is out-right discrimination.
- Did you complete your Diet Journal today? Get it done!
- Did you do any physical activity? If not, make a point of it by tomorrow!
- It is our hope that these photos shall inspire you!
And Now, Hair Wars!Today's Health/Excercise Tip:Regular teeth brushing linked to healthier heartsMay 28, 2010; LONDON (Reuters) - People who don't brush their teeth twice a day have an increased risk of heart disease, scientists said on Friday, adding scientific weight to 19th century theories about oral health and chronic disease.British researchers studied nearly 12,000 adults in Scotland and found those with poor oral hygiene had a 70 percent extra risk of heart disease compared with those who brushed twice a day and who were less likely to have unhealthy gums.
People with gum disease are more likely to develop heart disease and diabetes because inflammation in the body, including in the mouth and gums, plays a role in the build up of clogged arteries, said Richard Watt from University College London, who led the study.
The 70 percent extra risk compares to a 135 percent extra risk of heart disease in those who smoke, he said.
Although the overall risk was low - with a total of 555 heart attacks or other serious coronary problems among 11,869 people - the effect of regular teeth brushing was significant.
"Compared to things like smoking and poor diet, which are obviously the main risk factors for heart disease, we are not claiming this is in the same league," Watt said.
The study doesn't prove that brushing your teeth leads to lower heart disease.
"But ... even after controlling for all those things there is a still a relationship between this very simple measure of tooth brushing and heart condition," Watt told Reuters.
OLD THEORIES
"In a way, it's really quite an old story, because back in the early 19th century there was a theory called focal sepsis, and people believed that infections in the mouth caused disease in the whole body," Watt said.
"As a result, they used to take everyone's teeth out."
Watt said such a response was "a bit dramatic", but his findings did suggest that twice-a-day brushing was a good idea.
Gum or periodontal disease is an infection of the tissues surrounding and supporting the teeth and is more likely to occur in people who do not brush their teeth regularly.
Heart disease is the leading killer of men and women in Europe, the United States and many other rich nations and together with diabetes, accounted for almost a third of all deaths around the world in 2005, according to the World Health Organisation.
The teeth brushing study published on Friday in the British Medical Journal was the first to investigate whether the simple number of times someone brushes their teeth daily has any bearing on the risk of heart disease.
The results showed oral health behaviours were generally good, with 62 percent of participants saying they visited the dentist every six months and 71 percent reporting they brushed their teeth twice a day.
Once the data were adjusted for other known heart risk factors such as social class, obesity, smoking and family history of heart disease, those who reported less frequent teeth brushing had a 70 percent extra risk of heart disease compared to those who brushed twice a day.
Blood tests on those with poor oral hygiene were also positive for two factors called C-reactive protein and fibrinogen - both of which signal inflammation in the body.

Gay Group Endorses Giannoulias After Kirk Votes Against DADT Repeal
By Carlos Santoscoy / Published: May 30, 2010 / On Top Magaine
The Human Right Campaign (HRC), the nation's largest gay rights advocate, has pulled its endorsement of Illinois Rep. Mark Kirk after he voted against repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," the 1993 law that forbids gay troops from revealing their sexuality.
Instead, the group threw its support behind Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, Kirk's Democratic challenger for the Illinois Senate seat being vacated by Democrat Roland Burris.
Kirk, considered a moderate gay ally for his backing of a federal hate crimes law that includes sexual orientation and gender identity and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), a bill that would outlaw workplace LGBT discrimination, won the group's backing over an openly gay Democratic candidate in 2004.
On Thursday, the Naval Reserve officer voted against attaching to the defense budget an amendment that would repeal the gay ban.
"While many lawmakers stood on the right side of history in voting to end Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' Rep. Kirk voted to maintain discrimination that hurts our national security," Joe Solmonese, president of HRC, said in announcing the group's endorsement.
The following day, Kirk voted in favor of the $700 billion defense bill, which included the repeal amendment, one of the few House Republicans to do so.
"Alexi Giannoulias is the progressive leader Illinois needs," Solmonese said.
"As the next senator from the great state of Illinois, I will lead the fight for equality - for marriage equality, for an end to DOMA, for employment non-discrimination, and for immigration reform that treats same-sex couples fairly," Giannoulias said.
The endorsement could prove critical as candidates attempt to pull ahead in the neck-in-neck race.
Ironically, Kirk was accused of being gay and in the pocket of gay rights groups by Andy Martin, his GOP primary opponent, in January. Allegations Kirk has denied.
"Every gay and lesbian person who has been lucky enough to survive the turmoil of growing up is a survivor. Survivors always have an obligation to those who will face the same challenges."
