Here's some miscellaneous facts about some of the NXT "rookies"

Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan):

Was actually signed to a WWF developmental deal for a period back in 1999.

Was not only trained by Shawn Michaels but also later by William Regal.

Wears the red trunks and boots in honor of William Regal, including a
pair a boots given to him by Regal.

Wrestled 3 times on WWE television on Velocity as a jobber in 2003
against London/Kendrick, Jamie Noble, and John Cena.

While he has wrestled in front of small crowds on the indy circuit, he
has also wrestled in front of thousands in Japan and Mexico.

Wrestled Matt Striker in ROH. (Striker jobbed)

Wrestled "Pro" CM Punk many times before Punk was signed to WWE.

Darren Young:

Been wrestling for 8 years

Wrestled 5 times on WWE television on Heat and Velocity in 2006 as a
jobber under the name Fred Sampson against The Heart Throbs, The
Dicks, Val Venis, Charlie Haas, and Lance Cade/Trevor Murdoch.

David Otunga:

No prior wrestling experience to being signed to NXT and quickly
trained before the show.

Was a contestant on the reality show "I Love New York 2" going by the name PUNK.

Heath Slater:

Been wrestling for 6 years.

Signed to his WWE developmental deal 4 years ago.

Trained by Mr. Hughes.

Justin Gabriel:

Began wrestling in 1997 in South Africa.

His father was a Pro Wrestler in South Africa, "The Pink Panther"

Michael Tarver:

Been wrestling for 2 years

In that time has gone by the names, "The Upgrade" Tyrone Evans, Tyrone
Jones, Tyson Tarver, Mr. Tarver, "Iron" Mike Tarver and Michael
Tarver.

Skip Sheffield:

Was a contestant on Tough Enough 4.

Was signed to a developmental deal right after losing that competition in 2005.

Was originally released from his contract in January 2007.

Wade Barrett:

Wrestled in the UK prior to coming to the US

Signed to a WWE developmental deal in October 2007

In 2008 was charged in Tampa, FL with Battery on a Law Enforcement
Officer which is a felony.
