Such housing discrimination is preempted by the Hate Crime Bill that was signed by President Obama last year. The law prevents discrimination of housing for the LGBT community. However, it does not prevent discimination against the LGBT community in employment. Therefore, if we had a democratic senate mof 60 seats, we woul;d have had Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). Unfortunately, the House that inaugurates legislation will become republican as of jan 2011. Therefore, Republicans will not allow such legislation to be passed by the house and sent on to the senate. Don't blame president Obama as the LGBT community failed to get out the vote. Blame us, your friends, parents, etc.
Sure, regarding housing - one may have to take legal action; but they have the law on their side.

Kameny recalls his service fighting in the wake of the Battle of the Bulge by saying, "I dug my way across Europe slit trench by slit trench, practically."But Kameny was not invited because of any heroism he demonstrated in World War II, but rather for a much greater act of courage than even that conflict had demanded of him.
