Joseph Kony (born c. 1961)[1] is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). While initially enjoying strong public support, the LRA turned brutally on its own supporters, supposedly to "purify" the Acholi people and turn Uganda into a theocracy ruled by the Ten Commandments.[2] The LRA is a militant group with a syncretic Christian extreme religious ideology, known for the atrocities they commit against civilians, including murder, mutilations, rape, and in some accounts even cannibalism.
The bulk of Kony's foot soldiers were children.[9] Whilst estimates of the number of children conscripted since 1986 vary, some put the figure as high as 104,000.[9] When abducting the children, Kony and his army often killed their family and neighbors, thus leaving the children with little choice but to fight for him.
The United Nations and the International Criminal Court say that Kony, backed by child soldiers, comforted by girl sex slaves and fed by a campaign of terror against Ugandan villagers, has abducted, mutilated and killed tens of thousands of children and adults.
The Obama Administration in October sent 100 special operations troops to work with Ugandan forces to help root out Kony and his band of fighters. Another group of U.S. forces is working with the Congo and other neighboring countries to catch Kony.
OK - so here is what Limbaugh had to say concerning this international criminal on his show:
Lord's Resistance Army are Christians. It means God. I was only kidding. Lord's Resistance Army are Christians. They are fighting the Muslims in Sudan. And Obama has sent troops, United States troops to remove them from the battlefield, which means kill them. That's what the lingo means, "to help regional forces remove from the battlefield," meaning capture or kill.
So that's a new war, a hundred troops to wipe out Christians in Sudan, Uganda, and -- (interruption) no, I'm not kidding. Jacob Tapper just reported it. Now, are we gonna help the Egyptians wipe out the Christians? Wouldn't you say that we are? I mean the Coptic Christians are being wiped out, but it wasn't just Obama that supported that. The conservative intelligentsia thought it was an outbreak of democracy. Now they've done a 180 on that, but they forgot that they supported it in the first place. Now they're criticizing it.
Lord's Resistance Army objectives. I have them here. "To remove dictatorship and stop the oppression of our people." Now, again Lord's Resistance Army is who Obama sent troops to help nations wipe out. The objectives of the Lord's Resistance Army, what they're trying to accomplish with their military action in these countries is the following: "To remove dictatorship and stop the oppression of our people; to fight for the immediate restoration of the competitive multiparty democracy in Uganda; to see an end to gross violation of human rights and dignity of Ugandans; to ensure the restoration of peace and security in Uganda, to ensure unity, sovereignty, and economic prosperity beneficial to all Ugandans, and to bring to an end the repressive policy of deliberate marginalization of groups of people who may not agree with the LRA ideology." Those are the objectives of the group that we are fighting, or who are being fought and we are joining in the effort to remove them from the battlefield.
To my way of thinking, it takes more than just calling yourself a Christian to actually be a Christian but apparently Mr. Limbaugh has much lower standards that allow for "murder, mutilations, rape, and in some accounts even cannibalism", and forcing more than 100,000children to fight for you after murdering their family and friends is alright too. After hearing Limbaugh's complete lack of respect for women, we shouldn't be at all surprised that he would support those who are comforted by girl sex slaves. After all, this is a man who is chummy with "Christians" who violate the solemnity of funerals and deny the rights of family and friends to grieve the loss of loved ones, often our own servicemembers who have died in the line of duty by picketing funeral services; and he obviously holds that "Christians' beliefs afford them rights that trump the rights of other Americans to such things as health care services covered by insurance companies that go against the belief's of Christians.
Now folks . . . I am not anti-Christian. I happen to be a born again Christian myself, but I have a much higher expectation for "Christian behavior" and I don't believe that Christians' rights (based on their religious beliefs) trumps everyone else in this universe! Nowhere in all my studies of the Bible did I encounter any teachings of Jesus that teaches Christians to force their beliefs upon others either by force of arms or legislation. I don't find Limbaugh's doctrine to be patriotic or Christian, but that's just my opinion. In conclusion, with our troops on the ground trying to hunt down this international criminal, why is Limbaugh's "giving aid and comfort to the enemy" not TREASON?
