Egypt Not Happy At All That Elton John Said Jesus Was Gay

Oh no, certain people in Egypt would like to forbid Elton John from
playing music in the country, thus effectively canceling the big Elton
John concert on May 18! By their count, the "Candle in the Wind" singer
committed three (3) unforgivable sins, not counting singing "Candle in
the Wind." They include: being gay, telling Parade magazine that Jesus
was gay, and publicly noting that gay women in the Middle East "are as
good as dead." Said the head of the anti-Elton John Egyptian Musician
Union, "How do we allow a gay, who wants to ban religions, claimed that
the prophet Eissa (Jesus) was gay and calls for Middle Eastern countries
to allow gays to have sexual freedom?"

This same individual also told the German Press Agency DPA that this
Egyptian Musician Union "is the only body 'authorized to allow
performances by foreign singers in Egypt.'" The Huffington Post reports
that the country's government "barely acknowledges the existence of
homosexuality." You know what they say... denial: it's just a river
in Egypt, according to the Egyptian government.
