[TOWWFFC] Ultimate Wrestling "Brawl In The Hall 3" May 1st Results

I had my first opportunity to attend a live event held by the Ultimate Wrestling promotion based in Pensacola, Florida. They advertise as the Gulf Coasts Premier Independent Wrestling Promotion and from all that I had the opportunity to experience and witness I would not disagree. I am highly impressed with the promotion and all of the wrestlers I had the chance to watch in action.

The event was held at American Legion Post #33   1401 W Intendencia Pensacola, Fl

Website: http://www.ultimatewrestling.org

They have the Ultimate Wrestling Power Hour Radio Show every Tuesday live at 6:30pm only on http://www.gulfcoastsportstalk.com

Pure Doug Pitt vs Suicide Soulja: Pitt, and his partner TA Jones known as "The First Sons of Ultimate" recently regained the Tag Team Championship at the last P'Cola show.

Pitt and Soulja are strong fan favorites putting on quite a performance to start off the card. Soulja especially impressed me with his acrobatics and aerial maneuvers. Very, very fast paced opener with Pitt gaining the pinfall victory over Soulja. Easily at 4 star match!

Lenny Scootermeyer vs Robyn Golphin:This was the first title defense of the evening with Robyn, the current Cruiserweight Champion, successfully retaining his title in another crisp and fast-paced match. Fans were solidly behind the two competitors and would rate this match close to the same quality as the opener.

"Mr Electrictiy" Jerry Reiner & Bruiserweight Maze vs Amish Assassin & PG Justin Stone: While Maze and Reiner are heels, Reiner is a big favorite of the fans plus the two played off one another quite well arguing w/ each other. Maze is an incredibly polished heel.
Assassin & Stone are a fine tag-team with a good blend of size and speed between the two of them. I was impressed at the quickness of the Assassin. The established team scored the victory with the Assassin pinning Maze. I would rate this inbetween three to four stars with the action in and out of the ring. After the match Maze chocked out Stone when Justin attempted to get through to Maze on how he use to be.

Feature match is set up for the X Factor Championship as a three-way dance for later in the card.

Marcus Gibbs vs Cameron Frost: Frost, a former World Champion in the promotion, and Marcus went to fast paced time limit draw. Certainly seems clear that next to Godwin Frost is the hottest and most over face with the company. They both put on a high quality match and afterwards Gibbs, while making it clear he still did not care about what anyone thought about him, extended his hand to Frost, out of respect as he expressed it, and left the ring area. At minimum, a solid three and a half star match.

"The Feature" Carlos D'Angelo vs Brutal Joe Gibson vs Black Wolf: This is the three way dance for the X Factor Championship with the defending champion being D'Angelo. Carlos has some incredible skills behind the mic and as well as in the ring.

Black Wolf is a very solid competitor with a great blend of technical and flying moves. Truly enjoyed watching this man perform.

Gibson has a ton of heat and would have to say he is the most over heel in this promotion bar none. The man can work the crowd into a frenzy and has a brutal style reminiscent of  Arn Anderson and "Dr Death" Steve Williams in my eyes. One of the most top tier wrestlers I have seen in years and this young man has a long and bright future in the business.

All three of them worked astonishingly well. A very fast paced match and some incredibly brutal maneuvers I have not seen in a long time. Gibson grabbed the gold pinning Black Wolf and do believe he will be carrying this title for quite a period of time to come. Easily a four and a half to 5 star match.

Brian Caige vs BTY Colby Godwin: Caige has got to have the best mic skills as a heel I have seen in years and no slouch in the ring either. Very, very polished work and when Godwin came out. Well I have to say this was the pinnacle of the night for me because here is a young man that I truly see in the next few years tops as becoming a key player in this industry. He has already captured the eye of ROH and shall be leaving for them in a month's time. He reminded me of Stan Hansen and Terry Gordy in their prime and as well as a number of moves that made me think continually of Tazz and Samoa Joe.

He has that charismatic presence and is a true professional in and out of the ring. Normally I personally would not give a count-out match 5 stars but this was a rare exception. Both worked well together and Caige lost by count-out when he left. Colby whipped up the crowd and challenged Caige to a re-match this May 15th in a No DQ, No Count-Out Match and shall definitely be in attendance. That set up the next match and the action was non-stop.

Death Row vs TA Jones: Death Row is the present World Champion and made it clear he had no allies in the back and declared war on the entire locker room. He made an open challenge for anyone to come out and face him for the title and TA Jones, the other half of the Tag Champions, came out to accept the challenge. Death Row is another big man that moves surprisingly quick for his size and has that same presence I have pointed out with Gibon and Colby. Great on the mic and in the ring and Jones gave him a highly competitive contest the entire match. Death Row did get the pinfall victory. Another solid 4 star match.

After the match concluded D'Angelo came out and said that he has a clause in his contract when he became X Factor Champion. Instead of invoking his re-match clause he could forfeit that and become number one contender for the World Championship. He did so on the spot and do believe there is now going to be a title defense in two weeks in Milton at "May-Hem"

I could not over-emphasis enough how great the evening was and the wrestlers are very fan friendly and there is a great sense of community within everyone there. For those traveling through the area I highly recommend checking this promotion out and do take advantage of the links.

If I may add one more item: I discovered on the ride over, via the radio, that there was a RAW Tour taking place in Mobile, Alabama that same evening. Were I aware of that I can honestly say out of the two I would still have chosen to attend this event and have no doubt that this would still shine as the better of the two cards.

This area has a rich tradition in pro wrestling stemming back to Gulf Coast Wrestling were legends and those that would be become stars and legends laced their boots and continued to make names for themselves. Down through the years have been WOW (World Organization Wrestling) and CCW (Continental Championship Wrestling) which became the CWF (Continental Wrestling Federation) have been our meat and bread here on the Gulf Coast. Now we have the current generation with Ultimate Wrestling and they certainly hold up to this rich tradition deeply.
