Take Action:

• Boycott advertisers of Glenn Beck on Fox News as well as all of FOX NEWS!  Glenn has lied about Health-care, called our President a racist, and is anti-gay rights.
• Call the White House and let them know you are angry about the situation in UGANDA.  Uganda legislation calls for the Death Penalty for Gay People and mandatory Jail Sentence for anyone who does not report someone they know who is Gay!  This is Genocide!  Tel. the White House at 1-202-456-1111  ...., Fax White House @ FAX: 202-456-2461 .  Contact your local LGBT Community Center and see what they can do to express your/their anger!
• We demand immediate end of DADT. It is out-right discrimination.
• Boycott Bill O'Reilly and FOX News and their advertisers.  Bill discussed a French commerical by McDonalds that was meant to show that McDonalds is Gay Friendly. Bill said what is next? Is McDonalds going to get be Al-Qaida friendly as well?  Further, Bill said that McDonalds would never show a gay friendly commercial in the USA.   We view this as Bill comparing Gays to Al-Qaida. How dare these people make this comparison.  Come on McDonalds, we want to see a USA Gay Friendly commerical on Network TV!  I will eat your burgers everyday for 365 days in a year if you do this! 
• Boycott Arizona because of their uncivilized anti-Immigration Law that encourages racial profiling and increases hatred towards minorities.  A remedy: Demand Republicans to  support Immigration Reform.  So Far, Republicans will not cooperate.  Are we all suppose to walk around with Birth Certificates in our hands?  Are we all suppose to "look 'White' or go to jail" (until all documents prove you are American)?  What if Arizona does not like Gay People?  Will that person be hastled for vertification of being a American?  Oh Wait, Arizona does not have laws protecting gay people nor rendering them equal rights. Oops! "My Bad" -  for not remembering.  I guess "Arizona does not like gay people."  Gay in Arizona and tanned?  You better have your papers!

Strawberries: A Succulent Sweet Treat

 

Prized by the ancient Romans, strawberries have been a tempting and delicious treat for millennia. Fragrant, juicy and oh-so-easy to pop into your mouth, strawberries are loaded with vitamins C and K and fiber. These succulent berries also have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties and are packed with phytonutrients that protect your heart.

The beautiful ruby hue comes from powerful antioxidants that can prevent free radical damage and protect the body from premature aging. The red color also makes strawberries a gorgeous addition to fruit salads.

Although you can buy the frozen variety all year long, fresh strawberries are at the peak of their season from May through July, making them the perfect food for outdoor picnics and summer barbeques. At the supermarket, make sure that the berries you select are firm, plump and shiny red.

Wild strawberries are smaller than the cultivated kind, but don't let that discourage you – they have a more intense flavor.

No matter which variety you favor, just make sure to wash the berry thoroughly before enjoying. Eat them plain, add them to green salads or indulge your sweet tooth and dip them in chocolate. Keep in mind that strawberries perish quickly, but since they're so delicious you probably won't have very many left over anyway. If you do have some extra, throw them in a Ziploc bag with a little lemon juice and store in the freezer. They'll keep for up to year, so you can enjoy them even when the season's over.

With all their benefits and uses, it would be a berry good idea to have a large serving of these juicy fruits, pronto!

SF Gay Pride Event Suspect Cleared Of Murder Charges

San Francisco police no longer believe the man arrested Saturday at a gay pride event after gunfire left one man dead is responsible for the murder, the San Jose Mercury News reported.

Ed Perkins, 20, was identified Tuesday by police as the man arrested in connection with the killing of 19-year-old Stephen A. Powell Jr. of San Francisco. Powell was among the three people hit by gunfire at about 11:30PM in the city's predominantly-gay Castro district as the Pink Saturday street party kicked off the city's 40th annual gay pride weekend.

Police say Perkins will face charges of carrying a concealed weapon but the murder charge has been dropped.

Investigators say none of the bullets fired at the scene came from Perkins' .357-caliber revolver.

Also injured in the gunfire were two other people, a 19-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, both of whom are expected to make a full recovery.

Officials say their investigation will continue.

"The San Francisco Police Department is working to apprehend the individual who marred one of our most proud celebrations by bringing deadly mayhem to our streets," Kamala Harris, the city's district attorney, said in a statement.

"Every gay and lesbian person who has been lucky enough to survive the turmoil of growing up is a survivor. Survivors always have an obligation to those who will face the same challenges."
