Re: [Peckers_Pics] Re: Hair Wars; Dec 2, 2010 - Safe PICS For All Ages, Rated G

I don't think we should start a witch hunt myself,  but
if you are GLBT person who stayed home because the Democrats didn't live up to
your expectations, YOU SHOULD ALL BE ADMONISHED
SEVERELY ! Moving on.....

We keep hoping the T-publicans Party will fall apart, but we Democrats are so
dis-organized that we are lucky to come together every 4 years for a
presidential election.People, it isn't just the congress that is the
problem! Governors and State legislatures are extremely Tpublican now. 2 or 3 to one.
2011 is the year we re-apportion the congressional districts.  The Tpublican party will gerrymander every
district to their advantage and thenwin again. And again. And again

As for Americans remembering the treaty
with Russia or the tax cut fights in 2 years, What a laugh! The American electorate forgot that the
bailout of the banks and financial institutions was done by BUSH. The bail-out happened in August of 2008, and
Obama was sworn in January of 2009. During
the campaign Tpublicans blamed the bailout on Obama! And it worked.

Question: Do you
remember the tax-cut you got from the Democrats? The Tpublicans claim Obama raised taxes and
the public believes them. We actually
received almost $150 BILLION in individual income tax cuts in 2009. I will even
bet YOU mister moderator don't even remember that.  The American electorate certainly won't
remember 2 years in the future.

I am sitting here,
right now, watching a news report of a Senator in Florida who is trying for the 4th time to
pass a law against saggy pants in schools.
Tpublicans oppose un-employment benefits for people out of work while
trying to get tax-cuts for their wealthy supporters and another idiot wants to
establish fashion police!  Give me a
break!

In Iowa the Tpublicans
voted out 3 Supreme Court Justices because they supported same sex
marriage.  No Justice had ever been voted off the Supreme Court before.  There would have been more than 3 but the Iowa
Constitution only allows 3 at a time. Now, the new Tpublican Governor will appoint new judges that are
against gay rights. Just watch him!

Finally, I belonged
to ONE Iowa, the organization that did the heavy lifting
to get marriage rights in Iowa. It took us almost 4 years of
work. Now we may have to do it all over
again. Thank again Democrats for staying home.

I will get off my soap-box now. - Lee Lawson

Moderator: "I Mister Moderator" own moderate the obamabien2008 group (largest Obama group on yahoo). "I Mister Moderator" have posted in that group the tax cuts. However your attacks on us is counterproductive. The democratics failed to communicate their accomplishments. The white house failed to communicate direct with governors about the stimulus while health care bill was being taken up. I bet you did not know that? Goveneors actually lost their point of contact in teh white house during that time. Therefore, the sucess of the stimulus was not fully felt and funds were not taken advantage of in areas that would best impact democratic states. "I Mister Moderator" am a officer of the Democratic Party in my state. "I Mister Moderator" would not have to work for you as i do not believe i could tolerate being put down all day long. .....jake
PS I never did wear saggy pants, but, support the law in Florida for kids to not wear saggy pants. In fact, i support uniforms. A lot of these clothes are used to represent gangs, etc.

moderator: soon comes quickly, 2 yrs is not long.  let us not start a witch hunt regarding who voted and who did not.  The lgbt commmunity manned all democratic offices in 2008. They chose not to do so in 2010. They were frustrated and mad. 1st came the death of Kennedy and the command center began to fail.

Without the lgbt community staffing democratic offices, there was no significant "get out the vote" campaign.  Did we shoot ourselves in the back? yes!  But, the new republican congress will fall a part and voters shall see that they sacrificed over 90% of the tax payers for the remainign 10% wealth.  That will not sit well at walmart where the middle class are forced to shop for undesireable food.

Was the decline of obama due to the fact he is black?  I say yes.  I have too many so-called friends that use N jokes; yet, did not do so before.  The election of a black president has brought out the worst in closted haters. Unfortunately, the rest of us got sucked in the demise of the democratic party.

in a few years there shall be a turn around. already the economy is rebounding. 10% unemployment has shrunk to 9.6% unemployment. Perhaps that may be down to 6 or 7 percent by 2012. The stock market has increased over 40% since Obama was elected. The rich should not be complaining.     Meanwhile, those that lost temporary to permanent unemployment checks will never vote republican again.

Even dis-armanent between russia and the usa is endangered. The republicans have jeopardized American Natl security and this shall not fly well in 2012.

The democratic party needs to be honest. They need to run on stating they support ending dadt. Support women's rights to abortion. Further, democratics have been the biggest champs of pro-gun rights under obama; yet, failed to communicate this.  Time for some staff changes.

I suspect the democratics may make a big deal with republicans to pass dadt, the new Start Treaty, extention of unemployment as we as continuing the tax cuts; but not for under 250K. Insteads they will probably up the end of the extention to those eraning no less than 1 million per year. Rap it into a nice package and there may be a deal.  There are a lot of possible scenarios.

Meanwhile, tomorrow, Nasa shall disclose that it has found extraterestial life in a last ditch to save it's program.

Overal, defense cuts are enevitable.  Social security age limits shall be raised.  These are the deals to come.

Reports about similar cases were already identified in 1969, while a case of the disease was reported in England in 1959. The equation of the epidemic with homosexuality, which appeared with the first diagnosis of HIV/AIDS in gay men, continued and intensified the hatred towards homosexual people.

> The occurrence of AIDS, on the other hand, forced many state legislative authorities to start addressing the phenomenon of homosexuality, even though they called upon people only to abstain from sexual intercourse. For example, priests Pat Roberson and Jerry Fallwell described gays as ill sinners and promoted the idea that AIDS is God's punishment and that the activities of the gay movement should be terminated.
>
> The White House Secretary of Education, William Bennett, and his adviser, Gary Bauer tried to fulfil these requirements and thus achieved that the research on AIDS wasn't largely funded by the state.

Stigmatisation of homosexuality continued despite the fact that, at that time, homosexual people were the most active and efficient in warning against risks and emphasising the need for preventive action.

> One striking aspect of the Pentagon's recently released study on repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) are the similarities it has to Judge Walker's ruling which struck down Proposition 8 in California. While the documents deal with different topics they both make the same fundamental point: the barriers that prevent homosexuals from partaking in the same activities heterosexuals do are ultimately artificial and without rational basis.
> These two documents help to advance an important truth: that homosexuality is not an aberration or a deviation, and that a person's sexual orientation does not hinder or damage a person's competence, or ability to perform as well at a task as a heterosexual.
> In his ruling on Proposition 8, Judge Walker wrote:
>
> Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite sex couples are superior to same-sex couples.
> Proponents of Proposition 8 have stated in their appeal that they wish to argue that opposite sex couples are superior to same-sex couples since they can procreate. That would likely be a definition of marriage that not even all heterosexual couples currently live up to. On the basic ability to love and support each other in a relationship, same sex couples are just as capable as opposite sex couples.
> The DADT study does something similar. It first points out that as a practical manner, gays are already successfully integrated into the military anyway:
>
> The reality is that there are gay men and lesbians already serving in today's U.S. military, and most Service members recognize this.  As stated before, 69% of the force recognizes that they have at some point served in a unit with a co-worker they believed to be gay or lesbian.  Of those who have actually had this experience in their career, 92% stated that the unit's `ability to work together' was `very good,' `good,' or `neither good nor poor,' while only 8% stated it was `poor' or `very
>  poor.'
> However, since the key difference is that now their service would be open, the question is whether this change would create new disturbances that hurt the military's ability to operate. The report states that in fact, those who serve openly have the same incentive to not create incidents and to be responsible members of their organization:
>
> If gay and lesbian Service members in today's U.S. military were permitted to make reference to their sexual orientation, while subject to the same standards of conduct as all other Service members, we assess that most would continue to be private and discreet about their personal lives.  This discretion would occur for reasons having nothing to do with law, but everything to do with a desire to fit in, co-exist, and succeed in the military environment.
> This line of logic makes sense. There is no reason why an openly gay service member should want to let their sexuality be an issue in their job performance. What incentive do they have to be a source of discord?
> The two documents help to build on a growing picture of acceptance of homosexuality as a normal way of life that is outpacing even some liberal and Democratic positions. It used to be that "civil unions" were seen as a decent liberal compromise on the issue of gay marriage. Now, even civil unions get mocked for being a half-hearted attempt to skirt the issue of gay marriage:
> At this point the only surprise is that liberals are not using the phrase "separate but equal" as a way to object to civil unions.
> The trend line is clear. Institutions are now able to state that the barriers which have held back homosexuals from engaging in the same activities as heterosexuals are largely artificial, and likely to crumble as society recognizes that sexual orientation is neither a sin nor a mark of deviancy, but instead a fully acceptable way of life that does not need to be stigmatized or given special treatment.
