I am skeptical whether the Democrats can gain control of the House or build a filibuster-proof super majority in the Senate this November, but I am hopeful that Pres. Obama will be re-elected. The obstacles to that will be the economy reversing current course and sliding backwards on unemployment, or there is a serious negative international event such as a serious event with Iran or a terrorist attack or something like that to throw the country into crisis. To your point, just continued crisis over Iran's nuclear program is suggesting $5/gallon gas next summer. Unfortunately the recovery is very fragile and factors underlying it are very volatile and I don't see that situation changing much before November. We all - your groups' members HAVE TO VOTE and we all must let our voices be heard as much and as often as possible in our local congressional districts.

I am encouraged that the president has become much more vocal about his vision, administration programs/actions/proposed legislation and that he seems to have regained his oratory legs and his balls when it comes to working with RepubliCONS - i.e. leveraging principle and not working to compromise when the GOP is simply intransigent. This will gain him ground with voters and get more progress done - especially with what he can do using executive order. I look forward to that trend continuing and helping to continue to make progress for our country economically and socially. Your groups' activism can and will play an important role.

On a personal note, I was concerned to read your note to John about your health issues. I consider you a valued colleague - even a good friend - in our battle for not just LBGT goals but for our beloved country. Is there anything I can do to support you in any way? You need only to ask. I'm not asking because I know your health issues are personal, but please know that I/we are in your corner and at your side at all times. I hope the outlook is positive.

Moderator; Hi, John, I am honored that you feel I have this ability. At the present time, I am unable to achieve this goal, because of ongoing and serious health issues. Further, I feel strong that NOM shall not succeed. NOM argues poorly, cause their arguments are outdated. I am pleased to see the Pres. Obama is picking up steam in the polls over Romney. This shall increase our chances to win our cause. Most important, we need to do well in the local elections, US House, US Senate as well. Doma could have been reversed if the House was Democratic and the US Senate had 60 Democratic Progressives. But Doma was really expected to be over-turned i a 2ND Obama term. This shall be a difficult fight; but, I am sure that we can bring more change under the Obama Presidency as Barack has been keeping his promises to our community. He has stated that he supports the repeal of DOMA. Reversal of DADT was the 1st step that gives a real legal challenge and solid reason to reverse DOMA.


Obviously, this The President's support of reversing DOMA does mean that the President technically supports same gender marriage. But the trick is not on the gay community, but on conservatives who are reluctant to vote (no reason to galvanize them to vote out of spite, we do not need to give the TEA Party/Republicans more ammunition at this time. We shall see how the drama unfolds in upcoming months.

On a personal level, I do best in galvanizing people to volunteer during the election in order to help in getting out the vote.

What worries me right now is that oil is at 112.00 per barrel and that gas is expected to go to 5.00/gal by election time in the fall. all because of a deepening Iran crisis. Any military action shall be prolonged action and keep oil costs high. As for amount of oil we import, Pres. Obama has kept his promise and the USA only imports 15% of our oil for the 1st time. This is the best news in years. Barack Obama has improved our oil output and cut our imports.

So we shall struggle through this fight, but remember this struggle is real and that radioactive materials are out there. Any action against Iran, will release radioactive materials that shall contaminate land beyond Iran. A very serious dilemma that may threaten shipping channels and civilization for decades.

* BOYCOTT KOCH INDUSTRIES PRODUCTS- to include their products: Angel Soft toilet paper / Brawny paper towels / Dixie plates, bowls, napkins & cups / Mardi Gras napkins and towels / Quilted Northern toilet paper/ Soft 'n Gentle toilet paper / Sparkle napkins / Vanity fair napkins / Zee napkins / Georgia-Pacific paper products & envelopes / All Georgia-Pacific lumber & building products (INVISTA Products) / Lycra / Stainmaster Carpet. The billionaire - Koch brothers are ultra republican - tea bag founders/supporters that do not support causes of the LGBT community.
* Boycott WALMART - The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force criticized Wal-Mart for denying employee benefits to same-s-x partners and for failing to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity. By comparison, the group said two other chain stores with a strong presence in New York, Costco and Walgreens, did much better.
* "Tune Out Trump", Boycott all Trump Hotel, casinos, holdings, The Apprentice and NBC Network! At CPAC, Trump said he is considering a run for president as a Republican. In a interview with the Des Moines Register, Trump added that he opposes all forms of legal recognition for gay couples, not just marriage. "They should not be able to marry," he said. So why does NBC keep the Apprentice when Donald Trump has stated he may run for president? After making racist remarks about Obama and recv'g public backlash, Trump decided not to run for president after NBC renewed his awful TV Show. How can NBC re-new the clown's show after he pulled such hateful shenanigans?
