Take Action:
- Boycott advertisers of Glenn Beck on Fox News as well as all of FOX NEWS! Glenn has lied about Health-care, called our President a racist, and is anti-gay rights.
- We demand immediate end of DADT. It is out-right discrimination.
- Boycott Bill O'Reilly and FOX News and their advertisers. Bill discussed a French commerical by McDonalds that was meant to show that McDonalds is Gay Friendly. Bill said what is next? Is McDonalds going to get be Al-Qaida friendly as well? Further, Bill said that McDonalds would never show a gay friendly commercial in the USA. Imagine, Bill is comparing Gays to Al-Qaida.
- Boycott Arizona because of their uncivilized anti-Immigration Law that encourages racial profiling and increases hatred towards minorities. A remedy: Demand Republicans to support Immigration Reform.
- NEW: Boycott Target and Best Buy for donating money towards anti-gay political candidates/organizations.
- Did you complete your Diet Journal today? Get it done!
- Did you do any physical activity? If not, make a point of it by tomorrow!
- It is our hope that these photos shall inspire you!
Today's Health/Excercise Tip:Fill Up on FiberIt's critical that people with diabetes eat "good" carbohydrates found in fiber-rich foods to strengthen the body's digestive system. Whole grains, vegetables, beans, peas and whole fruits are some of the best sources of fiber, which can help lower cholesterol and prevent overeating (you'll feel fuller with fiber in your belly). Nutritionists suggest eating copious amounts of veggies, preferably nonstarchy types such as greens and broccoli, with every meal and snack.
Eating beans, such as lentils and split peas, is a great way to flood your diet with fiber, and they're inexpensive! It's also a good idea to eat rather than drink your fruits and vegetables. So ditch the fiber-deficient processed juices, and munch on a fruit or veggie salad at least once a day. Also, when possible, don't peel edible skins from fruits and vegetables, such as apples, cucumbers and eggplant. Try to get about 25 grams of fiber daily, which is double the amount most Americans consume.
This group is called "Peckers PICS." The English - slang definition of "pecker" is to pluck at the truth. Therefore, we peck at items such as Gay Men's Health, Male Fitness, Gay (LGBT) Politics & Issues. In this section you may peck at each photo in order to decide the winner of the "war of the fittest!" Whereas, who is the model that may inspire you to exercise and "get fit?" Warning: This may stoke you!Remember your participation in discussion of health and news articles in this message is greatly appreciated!

Marseille, France - Gay Pride; July 10, 2010
19 August 2010 / Out & About / Editorial under Sam saysI just read the Los Angeles Times editorial, titled "A distasteful move by MoveOn. org," that labels the boycott on Target as a deviant use of social movement tactics and a "sophomoric" approach to social justice. The boycott, instigated by MoveOn. org, the GLBT community, and the GLBT community's allies has caused a crisis for Target stakeholders.
The people behind the boycott are responding to a recent organizational misdeed perpetrated by Target Corporation's executives: according to HRC, Target Corporation donated $150,000 to "an organization supporting a vehemently anti-gay candidate closely associated with a Christian rock band that advocates death and violence to gay people."
The organization, MN Forward, is running ads supporting Tom Emmer, an anti-gay gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota. According to MN Forward's YouTube channel, the one advertisement that MN Forward has posted and that represents Emmer's candidacy is not explicitly anti-gay. However, Emmer's Web site and his politics are explicitly anti-gay, meaning that MN Forward's use of Target's money has a latent or tacit anti-gay effect.
Target's initial crisis communication response was a paradox, an utter failure at public relations management from the start of the crisis. Brian Montopoli with CBS news, on July 28th, reported that Target's initial crisis communication response was to continue to endorse Emmer's politics, but only part of his politics: "Target, which is based in Minnesota, has defended its donations to the group, called MN Forward, by stating that they were tied to Emmer's positions when it comes to creating a positive environment for businesses, not his stance on social issues."
In order to handle their crisis communications, to repair the damage to Target Corporation's reputation, to repair the blow to Target's stakeholders, and to compensate the gay community for any harms in the form of anti-gay political action stemming from the contribution, Target entered good-faith discussions with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.
Target's action to negotiate with HRC represented an attempt to repair these damages that caused the crisis for Target Corporation. According to the Los Angeles Times, MoveOn.org also demanded a compensatory $150,000 contribution to pro-gay political candidates, which likely would have represented Target's full faith in and commitment to its inclusive corporate policies.
Nonetheless, the Los Angeles Times had the audacity to publish an editorial that scathingly criticized the boycott tactics and the compensatory contribution strategy to repair Target's image to the extent that it looked like a play that should have come from Target's public relations play book. The Los Angeles Times lambastes MoveOn. org in its August 19th editorial, suggesting, "Its latest attempt to extort and humiliate retailer Target Corp. shows that the maturity level at headquarters hasn't advanced."
According to Joe Solmonese, HRC President, "All fair-minded Americans will now rightly question Target's commitment to equality. If their initial contribution was a slap in the face, their refusal to make it right is a punch in the gut and that's not something that we will soon forget."
The press release did not include any overt endorsement of the boycott, and it is evident from the release that HRC still may anticipate corrective action from Target: Solmonese said, "The nation's LGBT community has shown these two companies enormous customer loyalty. Now it's time for that faithfulness to be returned."
Gay people are boycotting Target, and there is a Facebook group composed of over 60,000 people who have committed to boycotting Target.
Target could have done a much better job at handling communication during this crisis, and I do not think that they will be able to extinguish the negative publicity and dissatisfaction of GLBT customers without some form of corrective action or an apology.
According to the Associated Pres, the head of Target Corporation did issue an apology on August 6th, but CEO Greg Steinhafel was only sorry for the way the "MN Forward donation played out."
In terms of crisis communication, Steinhafel's apology could have had a broader audience than those who were affected simply by how the donation played out-it sounds as though he was just targeting his apology to stockholders in the company.
The donation has not "played out" yet for those who may be victim to an anti-gay Minnesota governor.
"Every gay and lesbian person who has been lucky enough to survive the turmoil of growing up is a survivor. Survivors always have an obligation to those who will face the same challenges."

Remember: Boycott Target and Best Buy for donating money towards anti-gay political candidates/organizations and to Proposition 8 (California) to prevent gay marriage. The Formal Boycott began this past weekend. I stopped shopping these stores - even though I want a new washer/dryer and new clothes for the Fall. I would not purchase "Blood Diamonds," nor should a person/organization be contributing funds to both Hitler/Nazi's and the Jews at the same time! Obviously giving money to the Jews and not Hitler/Nazi's is the right thing to do. Hence, these companies violated my trust and well-being. They gave money to my enemy who would terminate me from my job, deny me housing and send me to a Internment camp. Therefore, goodbye Target and Best Buy! The CEO's of these companies have been insensitive to our reaction and do not even comprehend their actions! What takes so long to "fire" these Neanderthals?
