Being British, i'm only dimly aware of American culture and to me, it seems
that the term 'sex-neutral' needs to be defined as it's very open to
interpretation (and therefore abuse). In my opinion, to have a
sexually-neutral attitude/policy (w/e) simply means that everyone is treated
the same, that there is no discrimination or ostracisation. In that context,
i regard myself as having a sex-neutral attitude because we are each
individuals and it is the differences between us which need to be engaged
and embraced, otherwise we would just be like a flock of sheep. However,
humanity dislikes unconformity because it cannot be 'categorised/defined'
(and therefore controlled) easily.

child was being bullied for being gay." The issue here is not one of
gender-orientation, but of bullying. If the child had been from an ethnic
minority, the bullies would have been racist but the core issue is still the
bullying due to discrimination, not gender-orientation.
Perhaps there is a political definition of 'sex-neutral' which would differ
from a logical interpretation of the phrase.

Moderator: Thank you Dave. In the USA and in school systems, s-x nuetral means the teachers do not take a position. They bud out of problems and do not correct the bullying, harrassment. Being nuetral is like not taking a position to protect gay people. It is like a teacher acting like Switzerland - Not taking a position. SWitzerland did not put down Hitler nor support Hitler. That is nuetrality. Hence, Gay people would not be protected under nutrality. Therefore, if the teachers do not take the position to teach and protect gay rights and history, than being switzerland simply means the teachers are not getting involved. I hope this helps. ...jake
