You can bike on a paved street and still get a good workout, but to avoid pollution and cars and take in the view of breathtaking scenery, head to the nearest trail. Riding a bike will work every muscle in your lower body. If you bike up a steep terrain or over an uneven surface, such as a rocky trail, riding will also strengthen your upper body and core.
To ride safely over a bumpy path covered with tree branches or rocks, keep your gaze focused about 10-20 feet in front of you so you always know what obstacles and turns are coming up next. While navigating your bike up a steep slope, lean slightly forward over the handlebars to keep your center of gravity low. Shift to a lower gear to ensure that your legs can peddle smoothly, reducing pressure on your back, knees and neck. If you're really struggling to make it up the hill, stand up on the peddles and use your whole body.
If you can't ride a bike outdoors because of bad weather, then jump on the stationary bike at your local gym. You may not reap the benefits of beautiful scenery and fresh air, but at least you'll get a great lower-body workout.

Update: (12/26/2010): Target is continuing to donate to anti-gay groups/causes/politicians. Update 03/08/11 - Lady Gaga Ends Target Partnership, Reportedly Over Target's Poor LGBT Stance. Update 3/25/2010 - Target displays their hypocrisy and Sues California Gay Rights Group for Lobbying Outside Stores. Target is attempting to block the LGBT right of free speech! STOP SHOPPING AT TARGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update 4/8/2011: Target lost its case to stop the LGBT from canvassing in front of their stores. A huge PR Disaster for TARGET! Perhaps Target should go out of business as they betrayed their investers and customer base. Target contributed massive funds to a politician who would like to exterminate gays. Now, Target can not stop us from Boycotting them, nor picketing, nor talking to customers near their stores; although, Target allows a anti-gay company such as the Salvation Army to stand outside their door and speak with customers and raise money. Isn't this a double standard?
- End DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). Prevents Federal employees and Gays in the Military from gaining equal benefits. Prevents Gay Partners from gaining equal benefits.
- Pass ENDA (Employee Non-Discrimination Act). ENDA would prevent employment discrimination of LGBT workforce.
- Boycott Salvation Army as they will not hire Gays! "DO NOT DONATE TO THEM."
- BOYCOTT "Chick-fil-a" for donating money to anti-gay groups.
- BOYCOTT KOCH INDUSTRIES PRODUCTS- to include their products: Angel Soft toilet paper / Brawny paper towels / Dixie plates, bowls, napkins & cups / Mardi Gras napkins and towels / Quilted Northern toilet paper / Soft 'n Gentle toilet paper / Sparkle napkins / Vanity fair napkins / Zee napkins / Georgia-Pacific paper products & envelopes / All Georgia-Pacific lumber & building products (INVISTA Products) / Lycra / Stainmaster Carpet. The billionaire - Koch brothers are ultra republican - tea bag founders/supporters that do not support causes of the LGBT community.
- Boycott WALMART - The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, force criticized Wal-Mart for denying employee benefits to same-s-x partners and for failing to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity. By comparison, the group said two other chain stores with a strong presence in New York, Costco and Walgreens, did much better.
- "Tune Out Trump", Boycott all Trump Hotel, casinos, holdings, The Apprentice and NBC Network! At CPAC, Trump said he is considering a run for president as a Republican. In a interview with the Des Moines Register, Trump added that he opposes all forms of legal recognition for gay couples, not just marriage. "They should not be able to marry," he said. So why does NBC keep the Apprentice when Donald Trump has stated he may run for president? After making racist remarks about Obama and recv'g public backlash, Trump decided not to run for president after NBC renewed his awful TV Show. How can NBC re-new the clown's show after he pulled such hateful shenanigans? Boycott NBC! Boycott advertisers of The Apprentice and Trump's other business's. Don't shop at any bullding with Donald Trump's name to include Trump Hotels, Casinos, Condo's, Offices, Shops! The Donald has expressed extreme Hatred towards gays and blacks with his birther remarks and anti-gay rhetoric. Remember how poorly Trump treated Rosie O'Donnel? Now we know why he did that! It was hate against a lesbian as we now know he is biget. Unforgiveable! Again, Dump NBC because they air/re-newed Donald Trump's "The Apprentice"! Now the Donald Claims the Long Form Birth certificate is a fraud. And NBC keeps this guy?

Obama to gay group: We're not done yet

WASHINGTON (BP) -- Speaking at a fundraiser for the nation's largest gay organization, President Obama Oct. 1 touted his first-term achievements for the gay and lesbian community but also vowed to "continue to fight alongside you."
It was the second time Obama has spoken at a Human Rights Campaign event, the last being in 2009. More than 3,000 people attended the latest event, HRC's 15th annual National Dinner.
"We are making change. We're making real and lasting change," Obama told an enthusiastic crowd of gays, lesbians and their supporters. "We can be proud of the progress we've already made. And I'm going to continue to fight alongside you."
He added later, "I'm confident we can continue to write another chapter together."
The president listed his accomplishments for the gay and lesbian community, from the repeal of the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy to passage of a hate crimes bill that contains protections for homosexuals and transgender people.
Although Obama has yet to explicitly embrace gay "marriage" in public, he implicitly gave approval to New York's recently passed gay "marriage," law, labeling as "progress" what has taken place "in legislatures like New York." He also vowed to "keep up the fight against the so-called Defense of Marriage Act" (DOMA), which he called discriminatory. The 1996 law defines marriage in federal law as between a man and a woman and gives states the option of not recognizing another state's gay "marriages."
"I need your help to fight for equality, to pass a repeal of DOMA, to pass an inclusive employment nondiscrimination bill so that being gay is never again a fireable offense in America," Obama said. "And I don't have to tell you, there are those who don't want to just stand in our way but want to turn the clock back, who want to return to the days when gay people couldn't serve their country openly, who reject the progress that we've made, who as we speak, are looking to enshrine discrimination into state laws and constitutions -- efforts that we've got to work hard to oppose, because that's not what America should be about."
Citizens of two states next year -- Minnesota and North Carolina -- will vote on constitutional amendments defining marriage as between a man and a woman. A majority of states (29) have similar amendments.
Obama also told those gathered, "We have more work to do."
Bob Stith, the Southern Baptist national strategist for gender issues and representative of the convention's Task Force on Ministry to Homosexuals, said Obama's comments were "polarizing" and "hinder those who simply don't want to struggle with same-sex attractions or who have strongly held religious beliefs about the morality of homosexuality."
"He should refrain from ongoing attempts to marginalize those who disagree with him on this issue by ridiculing what for many of us are conclusions reached by wrestling diligently with biblical texts," Stith told Baptist Press. "He should recognize that many of us also want the very best for all our fellow countrymen. We just happen to believe that best is alignment with God's revealed will and not the latest change in the wind direction of cultural opinions."
Obama should show concern for those who are marginalized because they embrace traditional, biblical views about sexuality and marriage, Stith said. Stith cited several examples of marginalization, including one involving author Frank Turek, who conducted seminars for Cysco and Bank of America but reportedly was let go by each one because he had authored a book, "Correct, Not Politically Correct: How Same-Sex Marriage Hurts Everyone." Stith also cited Apple's decision not to allow apps for the iPhone that express biblical opposition to homosexuality and gay "marriage."
"A president who truly cared for all people would be equally concerned for this demographic as well," Stith said. "He would defend their rights and demand that they [as Obama stated,] 'be treated equally in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of our society.'"
In his speech Obama also spoke out against bullying of gays in schools, saying of gay students, "I want them to know that we love them and care about them, and they're not by themselves."
Said Stith, "The reality is that most Americans, certainly most Christians, would stand shoulder to shoulder to end this kind of treatment of any child for any reason. However, what President Obama is really saying is that we must not express any personal conviction that homosexual acts are sinful. So unless we're willing to adopt the party line, our voices aren't welcome. Thus, it isn't really about the kids after all -- it is about full acceptance of an agenda."
Every gay and lesbian person who has been lucky enough to survive the turmoil of growing up is a survivor. Survivors always have an obligation to those who will face the same challenges."
