[Peckers_Pics] Judge overturns Proposition 8 California ban on Gay Marriage

This is a very important first step. I believe that the challenge to
Prop 8 will probably go the US Supreme Court in either the 2010/2011
or 2011/2012 judicial terms. With today's historic Senate confirmation
of the (extremely well-qualified) Elena Kagan to the court, we stand a
strong chance of Prop 8 being ruled unconstitutional. The bipartisan
64-47 vote is a reflection of the powerful shift to more civil
libertarianism. Let's keep up the pressure on electing these types of
candidates this fall. We all must play a role in keeping up that
pressure.
