I was glad to see someone mention the "Kinsey Scale" regarding sexuality in general as it relates to those that are "anti-gay" in their beliefs (or at least vocally anti-gay....case in point, Rep. Aaron Schock)! I studied the "Kinsey Scale" in Medical school at Vandy and I was AMAZED at the accuracy of the initial report and how statistics were calculated etc.. I was also amazed at the "results" relating to men and the fact that VERY few men in the study scored at the far right of the scale (totally heterosexual/not attracted to male's in ANY way/felt NO effects of sexual interest in male's). You would think that most "straight" men would be at that far right end of the scale or at least between a 7 and 9. These include such questions asked such as, "have you EVER had any type of sexual experience with another male" and other questions like, "have you EVER thought about and played out scenarios of sex with another male" etc... Depending on how questions were answered, you were given a score on the 1 through 10 Kinsey Scale, named after it's inventor Kinsey. The weird thing is that this study was done decades ago and he was WAY beyond his time with sexual identity and actually caused a HUGE uproar with his book and report, once published. You have to remember that these statistics were decades ago.....back when people just did NOT discuss sexual issues in public or even in private in millions of homes throughout America. If the Kinsey scale was taken again today and surveyors went door to door asking for people to take part in a questionnaire just the same as they did decades ago, it would be very interesting how "wide the pendulum" would swing one way or the other? Today, people in general are much more comfortable with filling out a questionnaire dealing with personal sexual questions than they were back then. Although the Kinsey report was deemed accurate in it's gathering of statistics, many legislators and the Medical Association at that time were very boisterous regarding their distaste and uncertainty of the reports validity. There is a move called "Kinsey" that came out a few years ago and has played on the "Logo" channel and others if you are interested in watching the movie. It starred A-list Actors and was in a documentary sort of format but actually wasn't a documentary because "actors" were playing out the entire Kinsey report era. It was a great movie and was shot in black and white rather than color to give it an "age or era" type of look on the screen. I strongly suggest and recommend the Movie and the Book as well for those of you avid readers. Marki

Indeed...and well...seems to me that most of the ones who are vehemently anti-gay....are the ones who are still in the closet, battling their own demons. Kinsey had a scale....and on it he showed that very few men were predominately hetero....most men are Bi-sexual...or lean towards the gay end of the scale. Politicians seem top fail to recognize that in themselves....especially those that oppose gay rights!
