| I wanted to make a comment regarding the "intended" peaceful demonstration that quickly went awry in Russia's capital city, Moscow, outside in front of the Kremlin. In the article in the latest email message, detailing an overview of the events, poorly chose wording was used to describe the attackers of the gay activist's who were peacefully holding a demonstration for gay rights. These attackers were not just "run of the mill", common, everyday citizens, observing from the sidelines! In various news reports along with a few western European Television news stations and the Russian state-controlled television news station, it was very apparent that the attackers who incited violent attacks against the gay activist's as they peacefully demonstrated in front of the Kremlin, were actually younger "thugs" who visually demonstrate their Neo-Nazi, skinhead alliance, to a huge population of skinheads training and operating throughout Russia! These Neo-Nazi skinheads have become Very feared groups of radical individuals, willing to maim and even kill minorities of all kinds throughout Russia. Muslum minorities living in some of the largest cities, such as Kiev, Moscow and many others, are attacked in public areas and on public transportation everyday! Muslum murders and other racial minority murders, whether it be different ethnic groups or gay citizens of all ethnic groups throughout Russia, are being beaten and killed on a daily basis throughout the country by these radical, Neo-Nazi, skinhead groups! It has become a noticeably large problem throughout the country, making many minority individuals (including gay men and women), afraid to go to work on public transportation and constantly fearing for their lives! Since anti-gay bias runs deep within Russians still to this day, most bystanders during the demonstration that could easily see who was attacking the gay activist's, never stepped in to assist or help the gay activist's as the Neo-Nazi skinheads bluntly beat each and every gay demonstrator in their site! Of course with a fear stricken Russia of these radical groups known throughout the country, as well as their own individual bias and deep seeded dislike of gay people in general, it's not surprising that no one came to their rescue! These skinhead groups throughout the country, definitely have a tight reign of fear among almost all Russians! The local police anticipated the "go ahead" of the demonstration, while having 10 vans parked nearby to transport any demonstrators that showed up! On some of the western European television news stations, you could see the local Russian police breaking up the fighting. However, inappropriate beatings and rough arrests, were only directed towards the peaceful, gay demonstrators! The known skinhead attackers were handled very differently than the demonstrators, as far as Brutal force is concerned! Russian state television did not show the difference in handeling of the Skinhead attackers Vs. the peaceful demonstrators! Personally, I am all for peaceful demonstrations for gay rights and feel that the Russian government should have granted their long sought after permit, to hold a peaceful demonstration of a minority group in Moscow! I'm just not sure that the demonstrators should have carried on with their demonstration without a permit, fully knowing the anti sentiment that exists and probable beatings and arrests that would take place? I can see their views and decision to "carry on" with their demonstration for equal rights for LGBT Individuals! These demonstrators definitely have more courage than I do!
