The following is a pasted report in ref to Sting I just read on Yahoo Wrestling news search engine... no comment on my end...just check it out
the the New York Daily News is reporting that Sting has signed a one-year deal with the WWE, though the report hasn't been confirmed.
PWInsider.com has added a little fuel to the fire, however, noting that Sting is the WWE's "top priority" for 2011 after being the only modern wrestling legend to have never worked for the WWE.
And on Monday's Raw show, we saw the mysterious "2 21 11" video that most fans assume to be The Undertaker or Sting.
So which is it?
The variables certainly seem there for Sting making his shocking debut in the WWE, including his reported signing (by a major newspaper), reports that the WWE wants him and he is currently a free agent, the fact that Booker T and Kevin Nash have re-signed with WWE, and that short promo on Monday's Raw.
My take on the situation is that Vince McMahon is a genius. Yeah, I said genius.
Say what you want about the guy, but he's the best wrestling promoter in history and an incredibly smart businessman.
He knows that it's the 10-year anniversary of the death of WCW, he knows that older fans want to see Sting in a WWE ring, and he knows that this well help sell pay-per-views.
I obviously don't know if it's Sting behind that teaser promo, but I do know this: Anyone other than Sting will be a monumental letdown.
Even if it's Undertaker.
