Jim Parsons, Lee Pace set to make Broadway debuts in AIDS drama 'The Normal Heart'

Set in New York City in the early '80s, the play follows a group of friends who refuse to let doctors, politicians and the press bury the truth of the unspoken HIV/AIDS epidemic. The 12-week engagement begins April 19, with an official opening set for April 27, and must align perfectly with Parsons' hiatus between Big Bang Theory seasons.

The Normal Heart debuted off-Broadway in 1985, with Grey eventually replacing Brad Davis in the role of writer/activist Ned Weeks later in the run. As previously announced, Joe Mantello will star as Weeks and lead a cast that includes Ellen Barkin (Dr. Emma Brookner) and John Benjamin Hickey (Felix Turner). In their Broadway debuts, Parsons and Pace will play activists Tommy Boatwright and Bruce Niles, respectively. A percentage of the production's weekly profits will be donated to nonprofit organizations including The Actors Fund and Friends In Deed. In addition, a special partnership is being created with amfAR.

A gay activist in New York City is calling for a boycott of Donald Trump's businesses and associations following the mogul's statement that he opposes equal benefits for same-sex couples.

Last week, Trump, who is weighing a 2012 presidential campaign, expanded on his opposition to marriage equality, saying that he does not believe same-sex couples should be entitled to equal benefits under the law.

The New York real estate mogul and reality TV host, who plans to make a decision about his candidacy by June, spoke with  The Des Moines Register on Thursday. Trump is reported to be courting Iowa Republicans.

According to the Register, Trump, who has been married three times, reiterated the opposition to marriage equality he expressed last month, but when asked about equal benefits for same-sex couples, he said he was also opposed.

"`They should not be able to marry,' said Trump. But asked whether gay couples should be able access the same benefits as married couples, he said his `attitude on it has not been fully formed.'

"Given a second to think, Trump said on marriage and civil benefits, `As of this moment, I would say no and no,'" reported the Register.

According to New York Daily News, Allen Roskoff, the founder of the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club in New York City, has called for a boycott of his businesses and the products advertised on his show, Celebrity Apprentice.

"Not only should gays be furious, we should be boycotting the products of the advertisers on his TV show, and certainly boycotting his casinos and hotels and apartment buildings," said Roskoff, the Daily News reported.

Despite his stance, Trump's daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner served as honorary hosts of a fundraiser for Freedom To Marry in January.

But, it covers the LGBT community and includes updates on Health insurance; LGBT boycott list; Westboro Church; and the end of DADT, etc...Also, updates with state gov't war against unions and people with disabilities.  The group is created for you!  There are gay teen suicides going on. There are Hate crimes against gay people.  There are gays who are fired over their sexuality.  There are gay people who died for our cause! You always reserve the right to remove yourself from all my groups.  I have done everything I can and now it is time for you to step up!  Join Now!
