Like any other cause, when you deliver on the promises you've made, they'll support you to the utmost. I'm not liking some of his economic policies though.

Seated Broomstick Twist

By Jorge Cruise - December 01, 2011

The broomstick twist is the perfect move to work your obliques, the muscles that run along the sides of your belly. This will help slim your "love handles," the dreaded fat that accumulates just above the hip. Are you ready? Let's begin:

Step 1: Place a broomstick across the back of your shoulders, grip with your hands, and sit on the ball with your back straight, abs tight, and chin up. Twist your upper body to one side.

Step 2: With your chin up and abs squeezed tight, feather your breathing as you slowly twist to the other side though a count of 10 seconds.

Step 3: Hold and squeeze for 2 seconds at the maximum tension point.

Step 4: Return to the starting position through a count of 10.

Step 5: Repeat three times without resting.
Take Action:
  • Boycott Target, Best Buy, Gold's Gym - for donating money towards anti-gay political candidates/organizations. Update: (12/26/2010): Target is continuing to donate to anti-gay groups/causes/politicians. Update 03/08/11 - Lady Gaga Ends Target Partnership, Reportedly Over Target's Poor LGBT Stance. Update 3/25/2010 - Target displays their hypocrisy and Sues California Gay Rights Group for Lobbying Outside Stores. Target is attempting to block the LGBT right of free speech! STOP SHOPPING AT TARGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update 4/8/2011: Target lost its case to stop the LGBT from canvassing in front of their stores. A huge PR Disaster for TARGET! Perhaps Target should go out of business as they betrayed their investers and customer base. Target contributed massive funds to a politician who would like to exterminate gays. Now, Target can not stop us from Boycotting them, nor picketing, nor talking to customers near their stores; although, Target allows a anti-gay company such as the Salvation Army to stand outside their door and speak with customers and raise money. Isn't this a double standard?
  • End DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). Prevents Federal employees and Gays in the Military from gaining equal benefits. Prevents Gay Partners from gaining equal benefits.
  • Pass a LGBT friendly ENDA (Employee Non-Discrimination Act). ENDA would prevent employment discrimination of LGBT workforce.
  • Boycott Salvation Army as they will not hire Gays! "DO NOT DONATE TO THEM."
  • BOYCOTT "Chick-fil-a" for donating money to anti-gay groups.
  • BOYCOTT KOCH INDUSTRIES PRODUCTS- to include their products: Angel Soft toilet paper / Brawny paper towels / Dixie plates, bowls, napkins & cups / Mardi Gras napkins and towels / Quilted Northern toilet paper / Soft 'n Gentle toilet paper / Sparkle napkins / Vanity fair napkins / Zee napkins / Georgia-Pacific paper products & envelopes / All Georgia-Pacific lumber & building products (INVISTA Products) / Lycra / Stainmaster Carpet. The billionaire - Koch brothers are ultra republican - tea bag founders/supporters that do not support causes of the LGBT community.
  • Boycott WALMART - The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force criticized Wal-Mart for denying employee benefits to same-s-x partners and for failing to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity. By comparison, the group said two other chain stores with a strong presence in New York, Costco and Walgreens, did much better.
  • "Tune Out Trump", Boycott all Trump Hotel, casinos, holdings, The Apprentice and NBC Network! At CPAC, Trump said he is considering a run for president as a Republican. In a interview with the Des Moines Register, Trump added that he opposes all forms of legal recognition for gay couples, not just marriage. "They should not be able to marry," he said. So why does NBC keep the Apprentice when Donald Trump has stated he may run for president? After making racist remarks about Obama and recv'g public backlash, Trump decided not to run for president after NBC renewed his awful TV Show. How can NBC re-new the clown's show after he pulled such hateful shenanigans?
  • Boycott Georgia for Execution of Troy Davis @ 11:08 EST, Sep 21, 2011:
Former US President and Former GA Gov. Jimmy Carter felt that TROY DAVIS should not be executed and deserved a re-trial. The Former Director of the FBI felt that TROY DAVIS Was Not Guilty! Do not drive through Goergia as it is dangerous. Do not fly via Atlanta. For your safety -Do not travel to GA. TELL YOUR COMPANY NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CONVENTION IN GA! "Georgia Executes Innocent People!"
And Now, Our War of the Fittest!

After Pushing Gay Marriage, Cuomo Is Thanked With Money
New York Times - December 1, 2011 - By THOMAS KAPLAN

In the aftermath of New York's legalization of same-sex marriage this summer, gay men and lesbians lionized Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, showering him with gratitude, praise and awards. Now, they are rewarding him with something more tangible: campaign cash.

On Friday, Mr. Cuomo is scheduled to fly to Los Angeles for the first out-of-state political fund-raiser of his 11-month tenure -- an elaborate event at the home of a gay couple, one man the White House decorator and the other an HBO executive. Other hosts fill a long list of Hollywood glitterati, including the director Rob Reiner, the "Lost" co-creator J. J. Abrams, the "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star and the actress Vanessa Williams.

The Los Angeles reception follows four fund-raising events in New York in the last seven months that drew heavily on supporters of same-sex marriage.

Mr. Cuomo does not currently need the money -- he is sitting on a $9.2 million war chest, enjoys high approval ratings and is not up for re-election until 2014 - but he is often mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2016, and establishing a national constituency is of potential political significance for the governor, an ambitious Democrat.

"He's opened up an enormous amount of wallets," said David B. Mixner, a longtime gay rights advocate and friend of former President Bill Clinton, for whom he had helped rally gay voters. By orchestrating the approval of same-sex marriage in New York, Mr. Mixner added, Mr. Cuomo "made himself a national player, almost with one piece of legislation, and that's not going to change."

Richard Socarides, who was a senior adviser in the Clinton White House and is now president of Equality Matters, a gay rights group, said that for gay Americans, Mr. Cuomo was "the only national politician with hero status."

"Historically, we've seen that gays can be very organized both in terms of delivering volunteers and delivering money to campaigns, and right now, people are very excited about Andrew Cuomo," Mr. Socarides said. "He has delivered for us, and I'm sure that people will be willing to deliver for him in any way he asks."

After accepting donations from the gay community, the four Republican state senators who had provided the votes necessary to pass the legislation were strongly criticized by opponents of same-sex marriage. The opponents said the Republicans had sold out their principles for a promise of campaign contributions.

Brian S. Brown, the president of the National Organization for Marriage, which opposes same-sex marriage, said he did not have the same objection to Mr. Cuomo's fund-raising, because the governor had made his stance clear. But Mr. Brown said that it was important for New York voters to know that Mr. Cuomo was "now getting his payoff," and that the governor was eagerly raising money "on his radical social agenda."

"Clearly a lot of money was at stake for Governor Cuomo," he said. "He's now trying to get as much money in his coffers for forcing this through as he can."

Mr. Cuomo's advocacy for same-sex marriage was so forceful that he is now being asked to defend his tactics in court; last month, a state court judge questioned what he called Mr. Cuomo's "arm-twisting" of the Legislature on the issue.

Sheila Krumholz, the executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks money in politics, said it was not a surprise that Mr. Cuomo raised money from the gay community.

"Who else would someone like Cuomo go to?" Ms. Krumholz said. "As long as there is private money in politics, this is the bargain we've struck. Even if they limit themselves to small donations, the politicians will be hitting up the communities that are most likely to support their policy positions."

She said contributions related to ideological issues were less "insidious" than those relating to regulatory or financial matters, in part because politicians' positions are less vulnerable to being influenced by money.

"Is it unseemly?" she asked. "Only to the degree that fund-raising from private individuals and interests of any kind is unseemly. But this is the system."

Mr. Cuomo's recent fund-raising tied to same-sex marriage began in April, when he was the beneficiary of an event at the SoHo loft of Chris Hughes, a founder of Facebook, and his fiancé, Sean Eldridge, a senior adviser at Freedom to Marry. The couple said they planned to wed in New York in June.

"The governor has earned a place in history as someone who has led on this issue in a remarkable way," Mr. Eldridge said in a telephone interview. "I certainly think that the L.G.B.T. community, and the broader progressive community, won't forget it."

In May, Mr. Cuomo received a $60,000 contribution from the Empire State Pride Agenda. And in June, he invited his supporters - gay or not -- to a fund-raiser at the Broadway musical "Priscilla Queen of the Desert," an adaptation of a 1994 movie about three Australian drag queens on a road trip through the outback.

Ten days after the Broadway event, the State Senate voted to legalize same-sex marriage and Mr. Cuomo signed the bill into law, and the outpouring of support for the governor began in earnest. In the wee hours of the next morning, the governor hosted lawmakers and gay rights advocates at the Executive Mansion, and several of his aides joined gay activists at an Albany bar to celebrate the victory.

Two days later, the governor marched with his girlfriend, the Food Network host Sandra Lee, in New York City's gay pride parade. Mr. Cuomo tucked a miniature rainbow flag in the pocket of his blazer and was greeted with raucous cheers.

A gay magazine, The Advocate, splashed his smiling image on the cover of its September issue, and the Pride Agenda gave him a leadership award at a gala in Midtown Manhattan in October.

The good will was quickly followed by money.

In August, Mr. Cuomo bolstered his campaign treasury with a "summer celebration of marriage equality" in the Hamptons.

In September, two prominent donors to gay causes - Jon Stryker, the billionaire heir to the Stryker medical supply company, and Jonathan Lewis, whose father, Peter B. Lewis, is the chairman of Progressive Insurance -- hosted a fund-raiser that was billed as an "intimate evening" with Mr. Cuomo. Tickets went for $12,500 a person; Mr. Cuomo collected about $400,000.

The fund-raiser on Friday will be held at the home of James Costos, an executive at HBO, and Michael S. Smith, the interior decorator whom President Obama and his wife, Michelle, chose to make over the living quarters of the White House. The couple have raised more than $1 million for the president's re-election, and hosted Mrs. Obama at a fund-raiser at their home in June.

Chad H. Griffin, a political strategist active on gay rights issues, is one of the main organizers the event, at which attendees are being asked to donate $1,000 for cocktails or as much as $12,500 for dinner.
