Warm weather is now fully upon us, and I must say that I'm happy to see it arrive. I don't know about you, but I love the warm days of spring and summer.
One of the main reasons I enjoy this time of year so much is that I love to be outdoors.
There's something magical about this time of year, as Mother Nature releases a spectacular array of growth, color and wonder that has been in hibernation all winter.
The emerging plants and flowers and displays of color and aromas draw me to the outside like a bright light attracts a moth in the darkness.
I'm sure that you're all familiar with that phrase out and about. When someone is out and about, they've left their home and are busy getting the things done that they need to accomplish.
Being an out-and-about person really infers that you're living an active lifestyle injecting exercise into your day. And this kind of exercise is so much easier for those who find it boring to incorporate traditional exercise into their routine.
There are endless benefits, for both your body and mind, to becoming less sedentary and more active in your day.Here are some benefits of an out-and-about lifestyle from the Mayo Clinic:
•Exercise controls weight.
•Exercise combats health conditions and diseases.
•Exercise improves mood.
•Exercise boosts energy.
•Exercise promotes better sleep.
•Exercise puts the spark back into your sex life.
•Exercise can be fun.
Becoming more active will provide you with more energy, keep you in shape, improve your mood, increase your self-esteem, help you sleep better and generally make you feel more happy, alive and vibrant.
And, as I wrote earlier, you don't have to participate in a traditional exercise program to acquire these benefits. For some people, lifting weights, going to spin class or joining a structured fitness program just isn't their cup of tea. For these people, however, embracing the concept of an out-and-about lifestyle leads them down a similar healthy path.You don't have to start training like you're going to enter the next Olympics. Adding 15 or 20 minutes of physical activity to your day can deliver dramatic results. Do things that you truly love, such as gardening, walking your dog or dancing in your living room like no one is watching. Even less strenuous and unstructured physical activities as these can produce dramatic health benefits, such as lowering your blood pressure and helping you to relax and sleep better.
So today I challenge all of you who aren't currently doing enough physical exercise to consider living a more out-and-about life. Get up and get out more, and you'll be amazed at how such little effort can be so beneficial to your physical and emotional well-being. So what do you say?

- Boycott Bill O'Reilly and FOX News and their advertisers. Bill discussed a French commercial by McDonalds that was meant to show that McDonalds is Gay Friendly. Bill said what is next? Is McDonalds going to be Al-Quada friendly as well? Imagine - Bill O'Reilly compares Gays to Al-Quada! Further, Boycott Fox's Owner "Rupert Murcoch" and get him thrown in jail for illegal - political donations, bribery, hacking!
- Boycott Target, Best Buy, Gold's Gym - for donating money towards anti-gay political candidates/organizations. Update: (12/26/2010): Target is continuing to donate to anti-gay groups/causes/politicians. Update 03/08/11 - Lady Gaga Ends Target Partnership, Reportedly Over Target's Poor LGBT Stance. Update 3/25/2010 - Target displays their hypocrisy and Sues California Gay Rights Group for Lobbying Outside Stores. Target is attempting to block the LGBT right of free speech! STOP SHOPPING AT TARGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update 4/8/2011: Target lost its case to stop the LGBT from canvassing in front of their stores. A huge PR Disaster for TARGET! Perhaps Target should go out of business as they betrayed their investers and customer base. Target contributed massive funds to a politician who would like to exterminate gays. Now, Target can not stop us from Boycotting them, nor picketing, nor talking to customers near their stores; although, Target allows a anti-gay company such as the Salvation Army to stand outside their door and speak with customers and raise money. Isn't this a double standard?
- End DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). Prevents Federal employees and Gays in the Military from gaining equal benefits. Prevents Gay Partners from gaining equal benefits.
- Pass a LGBT friendly ENDA (Employee Non-Discrimination Act). ENDA would prevent employment discrimination of LGBT workforce.
- Boycott Salvation Army as they will not hire Gays! "DO NOT DONATE TO THEM."
- BOYCOTT "Chick-fil-a" for donating money to anti-gay groups.
- BOYCOTT KOCH INDUSTRIES PRODUCTS- to include their products: Angel Soft toilet paper / Brawny paper towels / Dixie plates, bowls, napkins & cups / Mardi Gras napkins and towels / Quilted Northern toilet paper / Soft 'n Gentle toilet paper / Sparkle napkins / Vanity fair napkins / Zee napkins / Georgia-Pacific paper products & envelopes / All Georgia-Pacific lumber & building products (INVISTA Products) / Lycra / Stainmaster Carpet. The billionaire - Koch brothers are ultra republican - tea bag founders/supporters that do not support causes of the LGBT community.
- Boycott WALMART - The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force criticized Wal-Mart for denying employee benefits to same-s-x partners and for failing to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity. By comparison, the group said two other chain stores with a strong presence in New York, Costco and Walgreens, did much better.
- "Tune Out Trump", Boycott all Trump Hotel, casinos, holdings, The Apprentice and NBC Network! At CPAC, Trump said he is considering a run for president as a Republican. In a interview with the Des Moines Register, Trump added that he opposes all forms of legal recognition for gay couples, not just marriage. "They should not be able to marry," he said. So why does NBC keep the Apprentice when Donald Trump has stated he may run for president? After making racist remarks about Obama and recv'g public backlash, Trump decided not to run for president after NBC renewed his awful TV Show. How can NBC re-new the clown's show after he pulled such hateful shenanigans?

Romney counters notion he bullied gay classmates
Presidential candidate apologizes if youthful "hijinks" offended anyone.

Washington -- Mitt Romney on Thursday countered the notion that he bullied high school classmates and insisted he didn't know some were gay.
The Republican presidential candidate apologized to anyone he may have offended by what he said were "hijinks and pranks during high school." His comments in a hastily arranged radio interview followed a Washington Post report Thursday that he had held down classmate John Lauber and cut off his bleached blond hair when they were classmates at a prestigious boarding school in the wealthy Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
The Post suggested Lauber was bullied because he was gay.
"The people involved didn't come out of the closet until years later," Romney told a Fox News radio show. "I had no idea that this person might have been gay."
"I participated in a lot of hijinks and pranks during high school and some may have gone too far. And for that I apologize," Romney added.
The report and Romney's defense come as his inconsistent record on gay rights -- though iron-clad opposition to gay unions -- is coming under scrutiny following President Barack Obama's embrace of same-sex marriage. He defended some gay rights when he ran for governor of Massachusetts but was a leading voice against gay marriage when courts made it legal in the state.
The Post report cites five classmates of Romney's at Cranbrook School recounting details of Romney's encounter with Lauber, whose bleached blond hair fell into his face. Romney led a group of boys that tackled Lauber. Romney cut off his hair with scissors as Lauber's eyes were "filling with tears," according to the Post.
The paper also recounted another incident where Romney shouted "atta girl" at a different student who, years later, came out as gay.
Romney was asked about Lauber during the radio interview. "I don't remember that incident," he said. "I certainly don't believe that I thought the fellow was homosexual. That was the furthest thing from our minds back in the 1960s."
Lauber is now deceased, the Post said.
