I think it's great that Obama supports gay marriage, though for us here in Brazil do nothave much impact. There was more effect when Argentina enacted the Law of Gaymarriage. It is much closer to us, beyond culture is practically the same.
The Catholic Church is very strong here, but just go to church (like many people I know),and the priests have almost nehum power over the class B, A / B and A. They are a littledemoralized, and many that follow, are the poor and desperate.
The great majority follow the Espititismo released by Alan Kardec, (not to be confused with the African CANDONBLÉ), and he has more direct watering of love to his neighbor,without discrimination charity, forgiveness and not judging people.
I hope for the sake of the gay community there, Obama is elected and re-create the lawthat gives right to marry. And lucky for you all.
