61% ... really?

 

It wasn't even close. 61% of the voters in NC think homosexual couples should not be allowed to legally marry the one they love.

What does that tell you? We are still a long way from gaining public acceptance. Unfortunately, we have to wait for most of the older generation to die off

and be replaced by younger people who are more accepting.

 

I was not really excited by Obama's announcement. I mean, it is great that he supports gay marriage, but unfortunately I think he just put the final nail in his coffin

for the next presidency. He will be replaced by a republican, and things will reverse course, or just go stagnant for another 4 years (or more)

 

Even he said it is up to the states to decide for themselves the issue of gay marriage, which I don't understand. Isn't this the United States of America?

You would think the president of the country would be able to enact a law for this, but he can't.

 

I have said it before and I will say it again: as long as the subject of gay marriage is put to public vote, it will lose. Since gay people only comprise about 10-15% of the population (my guess),

we do not have enough support. We only have so many friends and family to believe in us. The rest of the population thinks being gay is a choice. They think we are freaks, and compare us to child molestors

and beastiality.  So sad.
