it's funny how people will blame the media for situations they got themselves in. The simple fact is that Cain and Long have gotten into sex scandals that they were so vehemently against because of their 'family values'. Everytime any one runs on that ticket my first ? is: What are you hiding? I can cite ten different kinds of homophobic Repubs caught in sex scandals and every time they voted against gay rights or were vehemently against it.

These two are losers. If anyone but Long had been accused, he would've been ran out of that church with pitchforks in hand. I recently stopped attending a church because of fag sermons. I fought too hard to accept myself, I won't subject myself to any more of them willingly again

A Fork-in-the-Road Question

We all have to make tough choices occasionally. As life teaches us constantly, each choice we make has consequences attached to it. It reminds me of that old physics equation by Sir Isaac Newton called the Third Law of Motion, which states: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. It's that equal and opposite reaction that gets a lot of people into trouble regarding the choices they make. With that said, I suggest you consider this question before making any important decision: Is the money you make worth the price that you pay?

This question is actually from an old song by Graham Nash called "On the Line." Asking myself this question always gives me perspective and helps me gain focus when confronted with a fork-in-the-road moment in life. In other words, is the consequence or result of my choice worth the benefit that I receive on the front end? It works for me every time!
Take Action:
  • Boycott Bill O'Reilly and FOX News and their advertisers. Bill discussed a French commercial by McDonalds that was meant to show that McDonalds is Gay Friendly. Bill said what is next? Is McDonalds going to be Al-Qaida friendly as well? Imagine - Bill O'Reilly compares Gays to Al-Qaida! Further, Boycott Fox's Owner "Rupert Murcoch" and get him thrown in jail for illegal - political donations, corruption, greed, bribery, hacking!
  • Boycott Target, Best Buy, Gold's Gym - for donating money towards anti-gay political candidates/organizations. Update: (12/26/2010): Target is continuing to donate to anti-gay groups/causes/politicians. Update 03/08/11 - Lady Gaga Ends Target Partnership, Reportedly Over Target's Poor LGBT Stance. Update 3/25/2010 - Target displays their hypocrisy and Sues California Gay Rights Group for Lobbying Outside Stores. Target is attempting to block the LGBT right of free speech! STOP SHOPPING AT TARGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update 4/8/2011: Target lost its case to stop the LGBT from canvassing in front of their stores. A huge PR Disaster for TARGET! Perhaps Target should go out of business as they betrayed their investers and customer base. Target contributed massive funds to a politician who would like to exterminate gays. Now, Target can not stop us from Boycotting them, nor picketing, nor talking to customers near their stores; although, Target allows a anti-gay company such as the Salvation Army to stand outside their door and speak with customers and raise money. Isn't this a double standard?
  • End DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). Prevents Federal employees and Gays in the Military from gaining equal benefits. Prevents Gay Partners from gaining equal benefits.
  • Pass a LGBT friendly ENDA (Employee Non-Discrimination Act). ENDA would prevent employment discrimination of LGBT workforce.
  • Boycott Salvation Army as they will not hire Gays! "DO NOT DONATE TO THEM."
  • BOYCOTT "Chick-fil-a" for donating money to anti-gay groups.
  • BOYCOTT KOCH INDUSTRIES PRODUCTS- to include their products: Angel Soft toilet paper / Brawny paper towels / Dixie plates, bowls, napkins & cups / Mardi Gras napkins and towels / Quilted Northern toilet paper / Soft 'n Gentle toilet paper / Sparkle napkins / Vanity fair napkins / Zee napkins / Georgia-Pacific paper products & envelopes / All Georgia-Pacific lumber & building products (INVISTA Products) / Lycra / Stainmaster Carpet. The billionaire - Koch brothers are ultra republican - tea bag founders/supporters that do not support causes of the LGBT community.
  • Boycott WALMART - The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force criticized Wal-Mart for denying employee benefits to same-s-x partners and for failing to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity. By comparison, the group said two other chain stores with a strong presence in New York, Costco and Walgreens, did much better.
  • "Tune Out Trump", Boycott all Trump Hotel, casinos, holdings, The Apprentice and NBC Network! At CPAC, Trump said he is considering a run for president as a Republican. In a interview with the Des Moines Register, Trump added that he opposes all forms of legal recognition for gay couples, not just marriage. "They should not be able to marry," he said. So why does NBC keep the Apprentice when Donald Trump has stated he may run for president? After making racist remarks about Obama and recv'g public backlash, Trump decided not to run for president after NBC renewed his awful TV Show. How can NBC re-new the clown's show after he pulled such hateful shenanigans?
  • Boycott Georgia for Execution of Troy Davis @ 11:08 EST, Sep 21, 2011:
    Former US President and Former GA Gov. Jimmy Carter felt that TROY DAVIS should not be executed and deserved a re-trial. The Former Director of the FBI felt that TROY DAVIS Was Not Guilty! Scandals sink Atlantans: Herman Cain and Eddie Long's anti-gay politics key focus of hypocrisy

Over the weekend, two of Atlanta, Georgia's most prominent, powerful and conservative public figures, Eddie Long and Herman Cain, announced that they would be stepping aside. Both men seemed to blame media scrutiny for causing their families pain as allegations of extra-marital affairs lingered on.

Eddie Long, the long-time head of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, claimed on Sunday that he would step away from the pulpit temporarily. To loud applause from his congregation, he said:
 
"I'm going to take a little time off to work with my family. While I do that, I need you to be here, and I need you to give more."

Last year, Long denied accusastions by five young male church members that he manipulated them into sexual relationships. He remained as the head of his 25,000-member organization till now despite iPhone photos and detailed accounts of exchanging gifts for sex with the young men while on church grounds and during exotic vacations.

His wife, Vanessa Long, initially held hands with the Bishop as he spoke publicly about the challenges he faced. But after a year of news articles claiming Long was paying his accusers to settle out of court, his marriage recently appeared on the verge of crumbling. Vanessa reportedly filed for divorce last Thursday but immediately reconsidered her petition the next day.

In September of 2010, Eddie Long was blasted by many in the media for the hypocrisy surrounding his alleged infidelity and homosexual affairs. As an influential preacher, Long has a history of making religious and political proclamations against homosexuality and gay rights. In December 2004, Long marched thousands of his primarily African-American churchgoers through Atlanta, GA as a protest against gay marriage. His church also claims to counsel people "struggling with homosexuality," telling them that they can be healed and delivered. And, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Long once preached that women deserved death for turning toward lesbianism and sex toys.

Herman Cain, the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, was the leading candidate for the Republican Presidential nomination just four weeks ago, beating out Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich in several polls. But several women from his past came forward at the height of Cain's popularity to accuse him of sexual harrassment. Then, another woman, Ginger White, stepped up to claim that she and Cain had engaged in a 13-year-long affair which ended only when he decided to run for president. On Saturday, the faltering candidate stood with his wife, Gloria Cain, to blame the media, his accusers and others for his personal downfall:
 
''These false and unproved accusations continue to be spinned in the media and the court of public opinion so as to create a cloud of doubt over me, and this campaign, and my family.... It hurts my wife, it hurts my family, it hurts me, and it hurts the American people because you are being denied solutions to our problems.... So, as of today, with a lot of prayer and soul searching, I am suspending my presidential campaign... because of the continued distraction, the continued hurt caused on me and my family -- not because we are not fighters, not because I am not a fighter...."

Some media leaders like MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and The Young Turks hammered Cain with charges of hypocrisy regarding his conservative, anti-gay beliefs and his support for Federal and state bans on same-sex marriage. On June 9, Cain told CBS News that:
 
"I believe homosexuality is a sin because I'm a Bible-believing Christian, I believe it's a sin. But I know that some people make that choice. That's their choice.... I believe it is a choice."

He reiterated that statement on CNN, arguing with Piers Morgan that there is no scientific proof that homosexuality is not a choice. He also claimed that, while he disagreed with said choices, he did not go around bashing anyone.

In October, Herman Cain told the Values Voters Summit that marriage is between "one man and one woman" and that, unlike Barack Obama, he would actively uphold the Defense of Marriage Act. (He told bloggers in August that Obama had engaged in an "impeachable offense.") Cain later appeared on Meet the Press to say, "I wouldn't seek a constitutional ban for same-sex marriage, but I am a pro-traditional marriage.... [States] would make up their own minds, yes." Days later, he changed his position claiming that marriage needed "protection" at the Federal level (The Hill):
 
''I think marriage should be protected at the federal level also. I used to believe that it could be just handled by the states, but there's a movement going on to basically take the teeth out of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, and that could cause an unraveling, so we do need some protection at the federal level because of that, and so yes, I would support legislation that would say that it's between a man and a woman.''
