By Julian Whitaker, M.D., Alternative Medicine Expert / April 03, 2011Here's a quick tip: A dose of vinegar may help control blood sugar levels, say researchers.
A recent study tracking the effects of vinegar on people with diabetes found that two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (mixed with water and a non-caloric sweetener) reduced glucose and insulin response when taken just before a high-carbohydrate meal (bagel and orange juice).
Vinegar worked just as well as diabetes drugs, cutting the usual blood sugar surge in diabetics and those with insulin resistance (pre-diabetes) by 25% and 50%, respectively, and improving insulin sensitivity 19% and 34%. And aside from its unpleasant taste, vinegar has no adverse effects and costs only $15-$20 a year.
In a follow-up study, volunteers who swallowed two tablespoons of vinegar before two meals a day for four weeks lost an average of 2 pounds, while some lost up to 4 pounds (weight didn't budge in the control group). The lead researcher, Carol Johnston, Ph.D., says that vinegar may interfere with enzymes that break down carbohydrates, allowing them to pass through the digestive system without being absorbed.

- Boycott Target, Best Buy, Gold's Gym - for donating money towards anti-gay political candidates/organizations. - Boycott WALMART - The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, force criticized Wal-Mart for denying employee benefits to same-s-x partners and for failing to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity. By comparison, the group said two other chain stores with a strong presence in New York, Costco and Walgreens, did much better.

In a interview with the Des Moines Register, Trump added that he opposes all forms of legal recognition for gay couples, not just marriage. "They should not be able to marry," he said. So why does NBC keep the Apprentice when Donald Trump has stated he may run for president? Boycott NBC! Boycott advertisers of The Apprentice and his other business's. Don't shop at any bulklding with Donald Trump's name! The Donald has expressed extreme Hatred. Remember how poorly he treated Rosie O'Donnel? Now we know why he did that! It was hate against a lesbian as we now know he is hater. Unforgiveable! Ready to dump NBC because they air Donald Trump's "The Apprentice"? Start Watching CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.
- NEW: Boycott "APPLE." For the current owners and the aspiring owners of the I-phone, Apple allows an application, "The Gay App", which is supposed to help gay individuals turn straight. This is a step in the wrong direction.
Apple needs to know that the decision to allow this App on their products is a fallacious idea! Update: March 23, 2011: Apple removed this app from USA stores; but, rumored to have them remain in some foreign stores. This is offensive not just towards the LGBT community in the USA; but, offensive to the entire LGBT community around the world. How does anyone approve such a hateful, despicable app towards the LGBT community? Especially when Gay Teens are killing themselves after being harrassed by their church, parents, as well as by bully's and teachers at school. The idea that this app was used, solicited is disgusting.

Gay Olympian spreads anti-bullying message

An openly gay New Zealand Olympian is getting behind an anti-bullying campaign this month in the hope students might avoid being targeted like he was.
Speed skater Blake Skjellerup is leading a letter writing campaign to coincide with national anti-bullying day, Pink Shirt Day, on April 14.
At least 1000 high school students will be writing letters to Prime Minster John Key to let him know homophobic and transphobic bullying in schools was out of control, said 25-year-old Skjellerup, who competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics.
"When I was in high school I was bullied for being gay.
"It left me feeling isolated and depressed. I felt like I had no one to turn to. I was lucky I had my sport to focus on, a lot of gay young people don't have that."
He urged young people to share with Mr Key their own stories of bullying and how it had affected their wellbeing and education.
The campaign would urge the Prime Minister to look "more closely at the disproportionate amount of bullying that targets queer youth".
Students were taking their own lives as a result of bullying, Skjellerup said.
Students could confidentially take part in the letter writing campaign at www .pinkshirtday. org.nz (copy/paste, remove spaces). It was supported by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand and youth support groups nationwide.
Two Canadian high school students created Pink Shirt Day in 2009 to highlight the problem of bullying in schools.
Earlier this week, Mr Key said schools would be reminded in writing of their responsibility to provide a safe environment after two teenagers were taken to hospital following schoolyard attacks.
"Every gay and lesbian person who has been lucky enough to survive the turmoil of growing up is a survivor. Survivors always have an obligation to those who will face the same challenges."
