Re: [Peckers_Pics] Banning Circumcision

As a man who lives in San Francisco, I have to weigh in on this topic. I think this ballot measure banning circumcision is totally ridiculous. The government has absolutely no right to make medical decisions for people, and this ballot measure is nothing less than medical decisions being forced upon the citizens of SF, pure & simple. I was constantly hounded by men & women (gay & straight) on the streets over the last couple of years, who were trying to get the required number of signatures for this ballot measure. I realize that San Francisco from time to time has some pretty outrageous ballot measures, most of which end up failing; however, this measure is completely beyond the pale, even for SF.

@Butch - Gay & Straight men & women worked on this ballot measure, Not just Gay men. I'm a gay man living in SF for many years, and I refuse to force medical decisions on anyone, thus I'm completely against this measure. Your assumption that only gay men took part in the ballot measure is Absolutely Incorrect. Also, 97% of my gay friends (men & women) think this ballot measure is ridiculous; yes, I did the math - I'm a true geek at times. Just like there are radical members of the conservative right wing, there are radical members of the liberal left; plus, these radical liberals are a minority of SF liberals & SF gay men & women.
